The Fysio Difference
Most bike fittings are done because of pain. Who better to have perform a bike fitting than a Doctor of Physical Therapy with years of training and experience treating people with orthopedic injuries.
Bike Fitting is not a cookie-cutter science and not everybody gets the same "numbers." A bike fitting depends on your personal body makeup, previous or current injuries, and also your specific goals. Someone that has pelvic instability and a leg length difference needs to be fit specifically to accommodate those issues. That is where the knowledge of a PT will be able to help you achieve the best possible position for you.

What Does A Fysio Fit Look Like?
Step 1 : Subjective
This will cover your past medical history, current pain issues, what type of rider you are and what your cycling goals are.
Step 2: Physical Therapy Evaluation (off the bike)
Everyone’s body is unique. This is not just a size and height evaluation, but includes, muscle flexibility, joint mobility, neural mobility, strength testing, functional movement pattern assessment, posture, and more.
Step 3: On The Bike Static and Dynamic Assessment
Once we have an understanding of your body's makeup, we will assess your posture and movement pattern on the bike. This will specifically assess your riding posture, position, and joint angles. The dynamic assessment will look at your pedaling stroke and will look for compensatory movements and dysfunction movement patterns.
Step 4: Bike Fit Modification
This is where it all comes together. Depending on your body’s size, makeup, mobility, and deficiencies, we will fit you to the bike, and the bike to you. Not only will we help modify your bike to better fit you, but you will also receive a home exercise program to help get you in better shape and improve your flexibility to optimize your riding position. Some of the ways a bike can be modified to better fit is by changing saddles, the handlebar stem length and/or rise, handlebars, and peddles. Depending on your current bike setup you might get a recommendation for specific parts to modify your bike position.
